These services help scholars make the most of their scholarship experience and prepare them to contribute effectively to the development of Solomon Islands upon their return.

Internship Opportunities

Australia Awards Solomon Islands offers internship opportunities for scholars in Australia to complement their academic studies with practical workplace experience. Leadership Enrichment and First Nations Workshop

Australia Awards Solomon Islands is committed to developing future leaders through transformative learning experiences that complement academic study. The On-Award Leadership Enrichment and First Nations Workshop strengthens scholars’ leadership skills and awareness by exposing them to Indigenous Australian and cross-cultural leadership perspectives.

Through interactive learning and engagement with Australian institutions and leaders, scholars explore contemporary leadership approaches, strengthen collaboration and communication skills, and reflect on how they can apply their learning to drive positive change in Solomon Islands. The workshop encourages participants to develop their leadership potential and strengthen their capacity to contribute to their communities, organisations, and country.

Professional Development Travel Grants

Australia Awards Solomon Islands offers Travel Grants that enable scholars to attend conferences, workshops, and short courses in Australia. These opportunities help scholars deepen their knowledge, strengthen technical and professional skills, and expand networks that support their academic, professional, and leadership development.

Travel Grants also provide valuable opportunities to engage with industry experts, share knowledge, and gain exposure to emerging practices and innovations relevant to Solomon Islands' development priorities. Calls for applications are typically announced in February and July each year.
