Tertiary Education Support

The Tertiary Education Support Program strengthens tertiary education institutions and builds workforce capacity through targeted institutional strengthening and higher education initiatives. A key focus of the program is supporting the Solomon Islands National University (SINU) to enhance the quality, relevance, and accessibility of higher education, ensuring graduates are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to contribute to the country's development priorities.

Through partnerships with Australian and regional institutions, the program supports curriculum development, academic staff training, leadership development, and quality assurance initiatives that strengthen institutional performance and sustainability. These investments help build a highly skilled workforce capable of meeting current and future national needs across critical sectors.

Short Courses contribute to these objectives by providing targeted higher education and professional development opportunities for academic staff and tertiary education leaders. By strengthening teaching, leadership, and technical expertise, the scholarships enhance the quality of teaching and learning, support institutional improvement, and build long-term capacity within the tertiary education sector in Solomon Islands.
