Empowering Pacific women to drive change in sustainable fisheries

Alison Kaua from Solomon Islands and Beverly from Samoa are leading the way in sustainable ocean governance. 

As graduates of the Australia Awards   Short Course in Fisheries Management and Development delivered in partnership with, Solomon Islands National University and University of Technology Sydney (UTS), they’re championing inclusive, science-based approaches to fisheries across the Pacific. 

Their stories highlight the power of regional collaboration, gender-balanced leadership, and the vital role women play in shaping resilient coastal communities.
