Meet Australia Awards 🇸🇧 alumnus, and a dedicated journalist of 17 years, Eddie Osifelo.
Sponsored by Australia Awards Scholarship, Eddie undertook Gender studies in Australia. This deepened his understanding on human rights, gender equality, and social justice which strengthened his voice as a storyteller.
“Gender study opened my eyes to issues like domestic violence, disability inclusion, child protection, social safeguards and tools to research and report more effectively,” Eddie said.
Eddie is championing inclusive journalism—amplifying underrepresented voices while navigating challenges like resource limits and legal risks.
His advice to future journalists: “Work hard, be smart, proactive, and patient.”
